Gemstones are meticulously tested and identified through various methods, ranging from simple testing, such as visual examination under magnification using multiple light sources, to more advanced techniques, such as microscopic inspection, diamond screening, ultraviolet light testing and refractive index analysis.

Metals are examined and tested by acid or electronic analysis to determine their carat or purity.

The gemstone's grading is established through a detailed examination of its colour, cut, and clarity. Each gemstone is measured in multiple areas, and its carat weight calculated.

The type and quality of the manufacture is assessed, along with the quantity and style of settings utilised to set any gemstones.

Each component, including gemstones, metal, manufacture, setting and other costs associated with the piece, are combined to form the final price, factoring in your chosen market purpose. 

The resulting information is recorded in detail on your appraisal document, including a high definition photo for added visual representation of the piece.

Your jewellery and its valuation document are safegaurded until collection is arranged. Appropriate insurance coverage, storage and privacy measures are in place to mitigate risk or unauthorised access.
